TRE® (Tension, Stress & Trauma Releasing Exercises) are a series of seven exercises that safely activate a natural reflex of shaking or vibrating to gently release muscular tension and calm the nervous system. Designed by Dr. David Berceli, TRE® is an effective, self-directed practice that can be used throughout your life to support your physiological well-being.
In this series of 3 online classes, you’ll learn a series of 7 stretches and exercises to release deep muscular tension and calm the nervous system. We all have an inherent ability to literally shake off tension and return to an energized, peaceful, and balanced way of being, again and again.
Class 1 will introduce you to the practice, it is short, non-strenuous and can be done anywhere. Classes 2 and 3 will strengthen your ability to unwind stressful patterns. There will be time for journaling and discussion during each session. Each session will end with quiet time to help integrate gains made. Class sizes are kept at 3 to 4 participants with time for individual check-ins.
This online group learning experience is ideal for those who aren’t easily overwhelmed by stress. TRE® Participant Release Waiver:
TRE® (Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises) is a member of a new class of treatment techniques and protocols referred to as somatic-based therapies. While still considered experimental, these techniques are being used by therapists, nurses, physicians, psychiatrists and lay people worldwide. While there are theories as to how they work, why they work, and why they sometimes don’t work, there is no accepted scientific explanation. As a result of their experimental nature, no individual teaching or practicing TRE® knows with certainty in advance how they or someone can be helped or if this technique will help a particular person with a particular problem. To date, TRE® and other somatic-based techniques have yielded exceptional results in the treatment of psychological and physical problems. However, they are not meant to replace appropriate medical treatment or mental health counseling.

I understand TRE® is a safe and effective stress release technique for most people. The TRE® process should not be used as a substitute for trauma recovery procedures of a medical or psychological nature. Individuals who have physical or psychological conditions that require strict regulation, individuals with a complex history of trauma or restricting medical limitations should consult their medical practitioner prior to performing these exercises.
I will inform my provider of any medical and psychological conditions before starting TRE®. I will also inform them of any physical or psychological changes, including ones after participation. This allows my provider to adjust the TRE® practice so that it is safe and effective.
I also understand that by learning TRE® I can decide to do the exercises on my own (self-care practice) but take full responsibility for my well-being when practicing without a trained provider present. I agree that I am not a trained provider and MUST NOT try to lead individuals or groups without becoming trained by a certified TRE® trainer.
I give my provider permission to call my contact person in case of any emergency or if the provider feels any concern for my safety and well being.
