Connecting with nature has a side effect of bringing you closer to yourself. The walls that are built to separate you from nature begin to breakdown. TRE® is one healing modality of many, that can be helpful to shed layers of colonial history deep inside our nervous systems.
TRE® (Tension, Stress & Trauma Releasing Exercises) are a series of seven exercises designed by Dr. David Berceli, that gently release deep muscular tension and calm the nervous system. It is a self-directed practice that can be used throughout your life to support your physiological well-being.
The exercises are short and non-strenuous, and adjustable for all bodies and movement abilities. The 7th exercise activates a natural tremor reflex, or internal movement, that is experienced in a relaxed position. Tension release can look like laughter, tears, a feeling of ease or simply a yawn. We all have an inherent ability to shake off tension and return to an energized and calm way of being, again and again.
Individual sessions are online via Zoom and require a computer with working audio and video. Introductory TRE® sessions are currently offered in summer and winter (Northern hemisphere) on Fridays. Group sessions are offered by invite to those who are familiar with their TRE® response.
